Social, Cultural, and Self in Memory and Collective Narrative

In this talk I will return to a theme I developed in Nelson (2003), where I address self and social functions in autobiographical memory, exploring the social and personal origins of autobiographical memory, memory as narrative, and the development of the conscious self.
