Short-distance HLbL contributions to the muon anomalous magnetic moment beyond perturbation theory

The hadronic light-by-light contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment depends on an integration over three off-shell momenta squared (Qi2) of the correlator of four electromagnetic currents and the fourth leg at zero momentum. We derive the short-distance expansion of this correlator in the limit where all three Qi2 are large and in the Euclidean domain in QCD. This is done via a systemat

Multi-Parton Interactions at the LHC

We review the recent progress in the theoretical description and experimental observation of multiple parton interactions. Subjects covered include experimental measurements of minimum bias interactions and of the underlying event, models of soft physics implemented in Monte Carlo generators, developments in the theoretical description of multiple parton interactions and phenomenological studies o

Calculating fluctuations and self-correlations numerically for causal charge diffusion in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

We study the propagation and diffusion of electric charge fluctuations in the Bjorken hydrodynamic model with both white and Catteneo noise using purely numerical methods. We show that a lattice of noise fluctuations is required to fully calculate the two-point correlators of charge. We introduce a numerical procedure to solve the stochastic differential equations that arise from the charge conser

Top quark pair production at complete NLO accuracy with NNLO+NNLL′ corrections in QCD

We describe predictions for top quark pair differential distributions at hadron colliders, by combining the next-to-next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics calculations and next-to-leading order electroweak corrections with double resummation at the next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy of threshold logarithms and small-mass logarithms. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first s

Top-quark pair hadroproduction in association with a heavy boson at NLO+NNLL including EW corrections

This work studies the associated production of a top-quark pair with a W, Z, or Higgs boson at the LHC. Predictions for the total cross sections as well as for several differential distributions of the massive particles in the final state are provided. These predictions, valid for the LHC operating at 13 TeV, include without any approximation all the NLO electroweak and QCD contributions of O (αsα

CP4 miracle : shaping Yukawa sector with CP symmetry of order four

We explore the phenomenology of a unique three-Higgs-doublet model based on the single CP symmetry of order 4 (CP4) without any accidental symmetries. The CP4 symmetry is imposed on the scalar potential and Yukawa interactions, strongly shaping both sectors of the model and leading to a very characteristic phenomenology. The scalar sector is analyzed in detail, and in the Yukawa sector we list all

Light meson gas in the QCD vacuum and oscillating universe

We have developed a phenomenological effective quantum-field theoretical model describing the "hadron gas" of the lightest pseudoscalar mesons, scalar σ-meson and σ-vacuum, i.e. the expectation value of the σ-field, at finite temperatures. The corresponding thermodynamic approach was formulated in terms of the generating functional derived from the effective Lagrangian providing the basic thermody

Contribution of quantum chromodynamics condensates to the operator product expansion of Green functions of chiral currents

In this paper, the basic properties of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) condensates are presented, together with theirs relation to the operator product expansion (OPE) and the two-point and three-point Green functions constructed of chiral currents. Next, our newest results for the contribution of the QCD condensates with dimension D < 6 to the Green functions calculated within the framework of χPT/R

Effective field theories in QCD

These are the proceedings of the workshop on ``Effective Field Theories of QCD'' held at the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, Bad Honnef, Germany from November 26 to 30, 2001. The workshop concentrated on Chiral Perturbation Theory in its various settings, its relations with lattice QCD and dispersion theory and the use of effective field theories in systems wit

Unintegrated parton densities and applications.

The LDC formalism for DIS can describe HERA structure functions, and also agrees well with CTEQ and MRST gluon distributions. It is also suitable for hadronic collisions, and provides a strong connection between ep and pp reactions. Some preliminary results are presented.

Quark anti-quark expectation value in finite volume

We have computed the quark anti-quark expectation value in finite volume at two loop in chiral perturbation theory and compare it with a formula obtained in analogy to the Luscher formula for pion mass in finite volume. We observe that due to the small finite size correction at two loop it is not possible to obtain conclusions on the accuracy of the extended Luscher formula

Relic Gravitational Waves as a Source of CMB Polarization

The effect of relic gravitational waves on the polarization of the CMB is analytically studied. The equation of radiative transfer for the polarization is transformed into two coupled differential equations by Polnarev's method and an approximate solution is derived.

Star product and the general Leigh-Strassler deformation

We extend the definition of the star product introduced by Lunin and Maldacena to study marginal deformations of N=4 SYM. The essential difference from the latter is that instead of considering U(1)xU(1) non-R-symmetry, with charges in a corresponding diagonal matrix, we consider two Z_3-symmetries followed by an SU(3) transformation, with resulting off-diagonal elements. From this procedure we ob

Multiple Scattering, Underlying Event, and Minimum Bias

In this talk I first discuss the experimental evidence for multiple scattering and the properties of the underlying event. The extensive analyses by Rick Field of data from CDF cannot be reconciled with traditional wisdom concerning multiple collisions and the AGK cutting rules. Data seem to imply some kind of color recombination or unexpectedly strong effects from pomeron vertices. I then discuss
