Late glacial to Early Holocene deflation events and aeolian deposition on a raised ice-contact delta at Veinge, SW Sweden

Wind-abraded cobbles (ventifacts) and aeolian sand are known from the sandy-gravelly coastal areas of south-western Sweden, especially in association with raised deltas. Ventifacts are recorded on at least two different stratigraphic levels, on top of glaciofluvial sediment and/or on top of littoral deposits, while aeolian sand usually forms a surficial cover. The formation of ventifacts has usual

The Nabberör dogs - social significance of dogs in South Scandinavian Late Iron Age

Antisemitism and the antiracist struggle

In this paper, I discuss resistance against antisemitism in relation to the overall antiracist struggle. Inspired by postcolonial theory and critical race studies, and by locating notions of “Swedishness” at the core of the analysis, I show that antisemitism can be understood as a form of structural racism entangled with other racisms. Usability and feasibility of an online intervention for older adults to support changes to routines and the home ('Light, activity and sleep in my daily life')

Background: Indoor lighting, exposure to outdoor daylight, physical activity and sleep interact to influence functioning, mood and cicadian rhythm. Older adults (≥ 65 years), who often spend more time at home, are less physically active and experience more sleep problems, could benefit from strategies to support behavioural change and self-managed modifications in the home. Before reflexivity comes preflexivity : or how to make sociology more open

Tinkered care: Assembling Medicine Consumption in Grey Zones

Samtidigt som rättsliga sanktioner och teknologisk innovation förespråkasThe aim of this dissertation is to advance knowledge about care as situated practices within and beyond medical institutional settings. It addresses the phenomenon of substandard and falsified medical products, an issue that concerns state governments globally and organisations including the World Health Organization. While legal sanctions and technological innovation are strongly advocated to pro

Multiple scattering by a collection of randomly located obstacles Part V: Low order contributions to the coherent fields

The aim of this paper is to find appropriate approximate expressions of the coherent electromagnetic field scattered by a particulate slab. The exact solution of the coherent electric field to the multiple scattering problem in the slab is determined by the solution of a set of integral equations. Digital disruption diversified : FinTechs and the emergence of a coopetitive market ecosystem

This article analyses the development of FinTech companies in relation to traditional banks in four countries: Denmark, Estonia, the Netherlands and Sweden. Based on approaches drawn from the sociology of markets and field theory, we analyse and theorize about empirical data from secondary sources, official documents and 38 interviews with key actors. Whereas digital technologies have been commonl

On-Going Change in English Modality: Emancipation Through Frequency

On-Going Change in English Modality: Emancipation Through Frequency The English modal expressions BE going to, HAVE got to, and want to are often contracted to gonna, gotta, and wanna in spoken language. These contracted forms have gained both in frequency and conventionality in recent times. In this article, I present an investigation into the status of the contractions between phonetic reduction

Is eyestrain associated with musculoskeletal strain and visual symptoms?

AbstractEyestrain is a common issue when performing visually demanding work, often accompanied by neck and shoulder strain, as well as visual problems such as dim vision. The aim of this paper is to investigate the association between eyestrain and musculoskeletal strain, as well as the association between eyestrain and visual symptoms. Socialhjälpstaten i staden : Privat och offentlig fattigvård i Göteborg 1890–1920

This paper sets out to discuss the relevance of the concept of the ”social help state” (socialhjälpstaten) within the framework of Swedish historiography by focusing on the organization of poor relief in Gothenburg between 1890 and 1920. Coined by Norwegian historian Anne Lise Seip in 1984, the term socialhjälpstaten has been used extensively in the study of early welfare institutions and provisio

I tIn Swedish legal literature, many and differing remarks have been made on matters of evidence in disputes concerning the interpretation of contracts. Production and sifting of evidence and contractual interpretation have been described as two different methods in Swedish law for deciding on what a contract should be considered to mean in the contractual relationship. Specifically, there is an unce

Mot denna bakgrund utredIn recent years, the European Union has clarified the possibility for contract- ing authorities to take labour law considerations into account in public pro- curement. As a result, social considerations have assumed a more prominent role within public procurement law. However, despite the opportunities pro- vided, labour law requirements have been applied to a limited extent in Swe- den. Thus, thi

Between Meaning and Noise: Exploring Communication Excess in AI-Permeated Communication Environments

Scarcity, abundance, and excess – the experience of having too little, just enough, or too much of something (Abbott, 2014) – we frequently encounter in our lives. However, given recent advancements in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), we now face an unprecedented volume of communication across digital media contexts (Schulz et al., 2025).
