Upptäckten publiceras i Nature Cancer.

Climate-friendly diet yielded unexpectedly strong nutritional outcomes

That eating plenty of vegetables, wholegrains and legumes is beneficial for health is well known. More surprising, however, is that people who eat in a environmentally-friendly way also display nutritional values that are better than researchers had expected. This is shown in a new study by Anna Stubbendorff at the Agenda 2030 Graduate School. The EAT–Lancet diet is a global dietary guideline deve

How to survive your thesis

This article is over 5 years old, and the information may therefore be outdated. Every chair is taken and the leaders of the workshop have had to turn participants away. Among doctoral students, there is clearly great interest in the topic – to finish your thesis on time and feel good along the way.   “I think the workshop is great, it opens your mind and the techniques seem realistic to use in yo

Decentralised data, crime-solving bacteria, healthier food: three Lund University projects on IVA's 2026 list

Three Lund University research projects have been selected for the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) 2026 list, which highlights Swedish research with the potential to benefit society. Previously known colloquially in Sweden as the "100 list" and published annually between 2019 and 2024, IVA's list returns in 2026 in a renewed and more selective form, highlighting around 30 ongoi

Companies risk misjudging their impact on biodiversity

Which natural areas should be protected, and which can be developed? Biodiversity indicators can help companies make more sustainable decisions. But only nine per cent of the world’s largest companies in sectors with a major impact on nature use such indicators, according to a new study from Lund University. The researchers also provide seven recommendations for the future use of biodiversity indi

AI model from Lund University indicates four out of ten breast cancer patients could avoid axillary surgery

A project at Lund University in Sweden has trained an AI model to identify breast cancer patients who could be spared from axillary surgery. The model analyses previously unutilised information in mammograms and pinpoints with high accuracy the individual risk of metastasis in the armpit. A newly completed study shows that the model indicates that just over 40 per cent of today’s axillary surgery

New mechanism revealed: How leukemia cells trick the immune system

A research team at Lund University in Sweden has discovered a mechanism that helps acute myeloid leukemia cells to evade the body’s immune system. By developing an antibody that blocks the mechanism, the researchers could restore the immune system’s ability to kill the cancer cells in laboratory trials and in mice. The discovery is published in Nature Cancer. In brief: Facts about the study: peer-
