Teaterhögskolan i Malmö har 2019 utsett den internationellt framstående schweiziske regissören Milo Rau till ny hedersdoktor vid Konstnärliga fakulteten, Lunds Universitet. En högtidlig ceremoni ägde rum i Lunds domkyrka den 24 maj, 2019. I samband med sitt Sverigebesök fick Malmö även möjligheten att möta och höra Milo Rau under en helkväll i samtal med Björn Sandmark, VD för Göteborgs Stadsteate

Skådespelaren Petra Fransson disputerade i februari 2018 vid Teaterhögskolan i Malmö med avhandlingen Omförhandlingar. Kropp, replik, etik (Lund University Publications).Den 24 maj, 2019, promoverades hon vid en högtidlig cermoni i Lunds Domkyrka och fick äntligen ikläda sig sin doktorshatt med efterföljande festligheter. Sedan några år tillbaka möter docent Kent Sjöström skådespelarna vid Göteborgs stadsteater för att diskutera aktuella konstnärliga frågor, allt med utgångspunkt i aktuell konstnärlig forskning.
