  We welcome two new master thesis student this spring! Medical student William Dufvenberg will investigate hyperspectral imaging in border detection of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma.  Medical student Josefina Frenander will investigate hyperspectral imaging in border detection of melanoma. The students will be supervised by the research team of Professor Malin Malmsjö.

Johanna Berggren has received the Anna-Greta Crafoord Award for best PhD thesis at the Medical Faculty, Lund University in 2022 for her thesis Perfusion monitoring in oculoplastic recostructive surgery. Alice Fracchia is a summer student working in the group with her expertise in machine learning implementation. Her project will focus on developing machine learning algorithms to automatically determine skin tumor borders in photoacoustic imaging data where she will get the opportunity to learn how to work in a clinical setting and applying her skills in the medical field.
