This paper summarizes the recent calculations of the masses and decay constants of the pseudoscalar mesons at the two-loop level, or NNLO, in Partially Quenched Chiral Perturbation Theory (PQxPT). The implementation of the full next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to electroweak Higgs boson plus three jet production at hadron colliders such as the LHC within the Matchbox NLO framework of the Herwig++ event generator is discussed. We present numerical results for integrated cross sections and kinematic distributions.
We show how a difference in the correlation length longitudinally and transversely, with respect to the jet axis in e+e- annihilation, arises naturally in a model for Bose-Einstein correlations based on the Lund string model. The difference is more apparent in genuine three-particle correlations and they are therfore a good probe for the longitudinal stretching of the string field.
This summary aims to highlight major results and insights gained from recent studies of hadronic final states in ep, p (p) over bar, e(+)e(-), as well as relevant theoretical developments, presented in the Multi-Hadron Final States parallel sessions of the DIS2002 workshop held in Krakow, Poland in May 2002.
An algorithm is presented in which the Colour-Dipole Cascade Model as implemented in the ARIADNE program is corrected to match the fixed order tree-level matrix elements for e(+)e(-) --> n jets. For the results presented here, matrix elements were used up to second order in alpha(S) but the scheme is applicable also for higher orders.
We present results from Monte Carlo calculations of the string effect and the double inclusive correlation of particle flows for three-fold symmetric three-jet events in e+e− annihilation reactions at different energies. We find that the perturbative phase of the jet evolution quickly becomes dominant as energy increases.
We provide a statistically significant observation of the elusive Odderon exchange, based on novel and model-independent analysis of the scaling properties of the differential cross sections of elastic pp and pp scattering in the TeV energy range. We report the statistical significance of the observed Odderon signal at the level of 6.26 σ.
