Central exclusive production of polarised charmonia

We consider exclusive double diffractive production of polarised axial-vector χc(1+) and tensor χc(2+) charmonia in proton-(anti)proton collisions at Tevatron energy. The corresponding amplitudes for these processes are derived within the kt-factorisation approach. Contributions from different polarisation states of axial-vector and tensor charmonia are quantified. Corresponding experimental conse

Hard diffraction and parton rescattering

We present a new model where hard diffraction is an effect of soft gluon rescattering between partons emerging from the hard interaction and the color field of the proton. A resummation to all orders of multiple gluon exchanges leads to an overall color singlet exchange amplitude which reproduces the precise HERA data on diffractive deep inelastic scattering.

Measurement of Tc in the scaling region of (2+1)-dimensional SU(2) lattice gauge theory

The deconfinement temperature Tc of (2+1)-dimensional SU(2) gauge theory is measured on lattice sizes varying from 2 × 202 to 6 × 602 and with β in the rate 3-9. Approximative scaling is found for β > 6.5 and Tc/√σ = 0.94 ± 0.03 is obtained. This value is in excellent agreement with (3/π) 1 2, as predicted from the breakdown of SU(2) confinement in terms of an effective scalar string theory.

Hadronic production of glueballs

Cross sections for glueball production in hadron-induced reactions are estimated using the gluon-gluon fusion mechanism. For pp → θ(1700, JPC = 2++)X one finds σθ ∼ 2-10 mb in ISR-collider energy range. This cross section should give a clean experimental signal given the substantial KK decay mode observed in ψ → γθ.

Eta decays at and beyond p4 in Chiral Perturbation Theory

An overview is given of Chiral Perturbation Theory and various applications to eta decays. In particular, the main decay η → 3π is discussed at the one-loop level, and estimates of the higher order corrections are given. The importance of p6 and higher order effects in double Dalitz and η → π0γγ decays is pointed out. In all these cases the need for new experimental results is stressed.

Har chefen slutat bry sig? : En kvalitativ studie om enhetschefers möjligheter till brukarperspektiv

This study aims to explore how middle-managers, within public homecare services, perceive that they are affected by organizational structures, such as economic model, room for maneuver and budget responsibility, and organizational cultures, such as goals and personal values, in their effort to work with a client-centered perspective. The study was carried out by five semi-structured interviews wit

GARD – Genomic Allergen Rapid Detection : From Biomarker Discovery towards a State-of-the-art Testing Platform for Chemical Sensitizers

Chemical hypersensitivity reactions induced in the skin or in the respiratory tract are important health concerns and develops following repeated exposure to certain chemicals, termed sensitizers. To prevent such hazardous compounds from entering the consumer market, legal frameworks within EU require chemicals to be tested for their capacity to induce hypersensitivity. This type of testing has trChemical hypersensitivity reactions induced in the skin or in the respiratory tract are important health concerns and develops following repeated exposure to certain chemicals, termed sensitizers. Binarity of Hipparcos Main Sequence Survey Stars

Hipparcos observations of double stars, mainly A and F primaries, aremodelled in order to check the statistics of double-star solutions inthe Hipparcos Catalogue and to set quantitative limits on binarydistributions. The number of companions per primary is estimated to 0.25+/-0.05 for semi-major axes from 1 to 10 AU, and to 0.43 +/-0.20 for therange 10--100 AU. The total multiplicity found is betw

Spectroscopic data for Hg I and Hg II from beam-foil spectroscopy

The spectroscopic data mercury (Hg) I and Hg II was analyzed from beam-foil spectroscopy. The wavelength was found to be of course fixed and independent of the light source and recording conditions. It was found that if the calculated branching ratio was correct, then the Hg II was an important constituent of fluorescent light tube plasmas. The wavelength region from 40 to 600 nm in overlapping wa

Astrophysical Lasers with Radiation Pumping by Accidental Resonance

In this paper we consider a general problem of astrophysical lasersoperating with optical pumping by accidental resonance (PAR) with strongspontaneous emission lines of other elements. The origin of populationinversion and the coefficient of amplification due to the opticalexcitation of atoms (ions) by a four-level scheme with PAR are analyzed. We elucidate conclusively the question of the manifest

A zero-dispersion monochromator and two-beam output for UV Fourier transform absorption spectrometry

The motivation for using a zero-dispersion monochromator as a band-pass filter with a Fourier transform spectrometer is discussed, and the design of such an instrument is presented. Benefits in performance over commercial band-pass filters are demonstrated. In addition the advantages of using the second optical output of the spectrometer are discussed, particularly with respect to absorption spect

Dynamical evolution of two planet systems into the white dwarf phase

In this contribution we present some preliminary results on the dynamical evolution of two planet systems around stellar hosts evolving from the main sequence to the white dwarf phase. The aim is to study the instabilities triggered by stellar evolution that may bring planets onto the stellar surface or produce planetary scale collisions (hence debris) that could explain the metallic atmospheric p

Applying Dropout to Prevent Shallow Neural Networks from Overtraining

Dagens samhälle blir mer och mer datoriserad och tekniken blir allt mer avancerad. I teknikens framkant finner man artificiell intelligens.

From a report presented by Public health agency (Folkhälsomyndigheten), it is common amongst female students to experience the study situation as stressful and filled with anxiety. Because of the discussion about female students study situation and the problems it brings is quite old, I experience it to be important for me as a ethnological student and furthermore to contribute with my ethnologica

An explicit spatial model of yeast microcolony growth

Here we present a single-cell-based model of cell-cell interactions in a growing yeast colony. We examine the influence of multiple factors on the colony morphology and switch to a foraging growth behavior. We find that the cell-growth inhibition by neighboring cells along with polar division growth patterns are the most significant factors driving the exploratory behavior of a colony.
