RIVET

RIVET är ett Formas-finansierat projekt som syftar till att dels undersöka de värderingar och värdeantaganden som finns i klimatekonomiska modeller som exempelvis så-kallade 'integrated assessment model', och dels att utveckla deliberativa och inklusiva processer för att bättre hantera dessa värderingar och således göra modellerna mer applicerbara i beslutsfattande. Projektet har tidigare varit ett sammarbete mellan Filosofiska Institutionen i Lund och Mercator Research Institute on Global Common and Climate Change (MCC) i Berlin.

Projektet leds av Henrik Thorén vid Filosofisk Institutionen i Lund och har som hjälp Sofia Henriks, projektassistent. Samarbetspartners är Martin Kowarsch, Aalborg University, Dominic Lenzi, University of Twente and Lukas Beck, London School of Economics and Political Science.

RIVET is a Formas funded research project on values and normative assumptions in climate economic models, such as intergrated assessment models, and how these values are best managed when the models are used to guide public policy and decision making. The project seeks to integrate insights from the philosophy of science with theories of deliberative democracy with the intention of developing ways of grounding value assumptions in ways that are both democratically and scientifically legitimate.

The project is a collaboration between the Department of Philosophy at Lund University and the Mercator Research Institute for Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) in Berlin. Leading the project is Henrik Thorén at Lund University and the collaborators at the MCC are Martin Kowarsch and Dominic Lenzi.
