Processing South Swedish Word Accents in the Brain
Are you from South Sweden?
We are investigating how South Swedish word accents are processed in the brain and we are looking for participants to join our fMRI experiment.
Participant criteria
- Native speaker of South Swedish
- Right-handed
- 18 – 40 years of age
- No known neurological disorders (e.g., no previous history of a stroke, epilepsy)
- No metal implants and clips in the body
- No claustrophobia
Participants will listen to some Swedish words and give responses based on the experimental instructions. Experiment time is about 2.5 hours.
Participant fee is 135 SEK per hour before tax (paid through the payroll office).

How does the brain categorize speech sounds?
Looking for native speakers of East Central Swedish (Västmanland, Södermanland, Örebro, Uppsala and Stockholm regions)!
We are investigating how Swedish vowel sounds are processed in the brain and we are looking for participants to join our MRI experiment.
Participant criteria
- Native speaker of East Central Swedish
- Right-handed
- 18–40 years of age
- No known neurological disorders (e.g., no previous history of a stroke, epilepsy)
- No known hearing or language disorders
- No magnetic implants or clips in the body
- No discomfort in closed spaces
Participants will complete several behavioural tests and then undergo a magnetic resonance imaging session. Their brain will be scanned while they listen to speech and non-speech sounds and give responses based on the experimental instructions. Experiment time is about 4-5 hours.
Participants will be paid for their participation, 135 SEK per hour before tax (paid through the payroll office).
