Reconstruction of Anode Nanostructures for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Previous research works on solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have mainly focused on the large length scale phenomena, such as physical and chemical transport phenomena at macroscale. A new approach is proposed in this work, which combines concepts from all-atom (AA) modeling with coarsegraining (CG) molecular dynamics (MD) method to reveal the replacement mechanism of Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ)
Foreword
Similar software systems
During the last ten years or so, much effort has been spent on developing software architecture by analogy with hardware architecture from where the idea seems to originate. Much of the work has been devoted to specifying standard program units, called components, and their connections. The architecture is then the specific organization of these components and connections. In this paper, I suggest
Elemental Abundance Variation with Particle Size in Aerosols from Welding Operations
The effect of airborne particulate matter on human health is today of considerable research interest. Essential parameters include elemental composition sampling with low pressure cascade impactors and analysis by particle induced x-ray emission spectroscopy (PIXE). It is shown that the aerosol generated by arc welding operations is several orders of magnitude denser than aerosols in ambient air.
Contrasting ecosystem vegetation response in global drylands under drying and wetting conditions
Increasing aridity is one major consequence of ongoing global climate change and is expected to cause widespread changes in key ecosystem attributes, functions, and dynamics. This is especially the case in naturally vulnerable ecosystems, such as drylands. While we have an overall understanding of past aridity trends, the linkage between temporal dynamics in aridity and dryland ecosystem responses
Effects of Sound Type on Recreating the Trajectory of a Moving Source
The ABBI (Audio Bracelet for Blind Interaction) device is designed for visually impaired and blind children to wear on the wrist and produce sound based on the movement of the arm through space. The primary func- tion is to inform a child (or adult) about his/her own movements to aid spatial cognition rehabilitation. How- ever, the device could also be worn by friends and family and be used to inf
Computational modelling of contextual coreference: implications for Swedish text-to-speech
Analysing e-business models
The business model concept is becoming increasingly popular within e-businesses and e-business research. However, the concept is often used relatively independently from theory, meaning model components and their interrelations are relatively obscure. This paper analysis three e-business models taxonomies based on a generic business model, which include customers and competitors, the offering, act
The solar neighborhood age-metallicity relation - Does it exist?
We test the hypothesis that the spread in the age-metallicity plot of the solar neighborhood is due to a mixture of stars belonging to kinematically different sub-populations of the Galactic disk, i.e., the thin and the thick disk. We use a kinematic subsample of similar to 600 stars from a sample of similar to 6000 dwarf and subgiant stars from the Hipparcos catalog. All of these stars have a ful
Lattice Boltzmann Modeling of Advection-Diffusion Transport With Electrochemical Reactions in a Porous SOFC Anode Structure
Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is a method that can be used to capture the detailed activities of the transport processes at microscale. Here LBM is used to model the porous anode for an anode-supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC). The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of electrochemical reactions on the transport processes by a 3D model at microscale. A porous 3D modeling domai
Den osynliga användaren : hur kan bibliotek förbättra servicen för användare med osynliga funktionsnedsättningar?
The aim of this masters’ thesis is to examine how libraries can better services for patrons with invisible disabilities. My hypothesis is that although libraries are legally obliged to pay special attention to persons with disabilities, in reality the special needs of persons with invisible disabilities are often ignored. Invisible disabilities are disabilities that are not immediately apparent. T
Kapacitetsanalys för Södertunneln år 2020 samt HH-scenario
In order to achieve the environmental quality goals it is required to reduce emissions, particularly carbon dioxide emissions from road transport. A step in the right direction, from an environmental perspective, is to increase the use of electric railway. This means that a well-developed and functioning network that is customized to the European standards is required in order to motivate and mana
Går barnets rättigheter förlorade i vårdnadsprocessen?
Barn har rätt att uttrycka sina åsikter och atFamily law disputes concerning child custody, residence of the child and the child’s right of access with a parent have increased significantly over the last years. This means that more children get involved in these kinds of disputes every year. In Sweden, children have no right to litigate and no procedural capacity in these proceedings. Instead there are other rights that are supposed to ensure
Vocal comfort in simulated room acoustic environments - experimental set-up and protocol development
Voice problems are common among workers in occupations with high demands on oral communication. For sustaining vocal health, it is important to find efficient ways for how to reduce strain on the voice at work, and one way to do so is optimizing the room acoustics for communication. However, to date we do not know enough about what kind of room acoustic conditions that support voice and speech mos

Library and Information Science in Context: the development of scientific fields, and their relations to professional contexts
The purpose of this paper is to discuss how theories of social and intellectual development of scientific fields can be used to analyze LIS, and especially its relationship to other research areas and the library and information field of practice. Scientific fields can be seen as reputational work organizations, where degrees of task uncertainty and mutual dependency control the coordination and d
Tool material experiences from pressing of heat exchanger plates
Wear in forming tools and contact problems between sheet-metal and tool-material are common problems in manufacturing industries and sheet-metal-parts production. In this paper recent tool material experiences are presented. Quantitative determination of wear has been performed using micro hardness indentions made on the tool surface prior to pressings and thereafter measured. Wear tests are perfo
Special Considerations for Navigation and Interaction in Virtual Environments for People with Brain Injury
When a Virtual Environment (VE) is designed, decisions regarding the navigation of the viewpoint, interaction with objects, and the behavior of the VE itself are made. Each of these can affect the usability and the cognitive load on the user. A VE that had previously been constructed as a prototype tool for the assessment of brain injury has been studied to establish the consequences of such desig
Tobacco smoke as a major source of endotoxin in indoor air
Mass spectrometry was used to determine the endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide, LPS) marker 3-hydroxytetradecanoic acid and 3-deoxy -D-manno-2-octulosonic acid in cigarette tobacco and smoke particles. Tobacco from cigarettes of different brands purchased in four different countries in Europe and Asia contained similar amounts of LPS. Indoor exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) in rooms of smo
