Popular Abstract in Swedish Det finns ett starkt samband mellan kronisk inflammation och cancer. Ett av de mer etablerade sambanden är den mellan kronisk inflammation i tarmen och den i Sverige tredje vanligaste cancersjukdomen, nämligen tjocktarmscancer. Risken för tjocktarmscancer korrelerar med inflammationsutbredning, varaktighet och svårighetsgrad. Den inflammatoriska processen regleras av reCysteinyl leukotrienes (LTC4, LTD4 and LTE4) are potent pro-inflammatory lipids derived from arachidonic acid and mediate their effect through CysLT1R and CysLT2R.
