Studiens syfte var att undersöka somatisering hos 14 år gamla grundskoleelever kopplat till identitet, känslor, nätverk och den egna kroppen. CSI-24 (Child Somatization Inventory) distribuerades i tre åttondeklasser i södra Sverige. Utifrån enkätsvaren valdes sedan de fem med högst respektive lägst poäng ut för semistrukturerade intervjuer. Intervjuerna bearbetades genom tematisk innehållsanalys.
